Hot Sauce and Pepper
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs sits down at Hot Sauce and Pepper, a vegan soul-food kitchen in Tempe: family recipes, a small-business loan that helped, and a cauliflower everyone calls fire.
Now playing · The Governor sizzle
The governor came to talk small business, and we filmed it as a tasting, Hot Ones style. The owners took her through the menu plate by plate: the red-hot sauce, the mambo sauce they make in house, the award-winning Cali Fire mac and the mambo fries.
Between bites, the conversation turned to the programs that keep kitchens like this one open: the loan that helped, and the local organizations behind it. The sizzle carries that whole afternoon in under two minutes. The food-truck reel from July came first.
“I'm so happy that you were able to get the loan and that it's helping your business.”— Governor Katie Hobbs
